Boring Yet Exciting!

http://www.davidanthonydurham.com/novels/acacia.html
READ THAT BOOK NOW! YOU STILL HAVE TIME BEFORE THE NEXT ONE COMES OUT!

The author David Anthony Durham wrote me an email in response to some questions I asked him!!

Chloé, (Look he got the accent on my name and everything!)

Hello. (Very polite!)

Thanks for writing. I don't know that I'm worthy of your love, but I'm glad to receive it anyway. Nor do I really think there are zero flaws in Acacia or in my depiction of sibling relationships, but... what's a flaw anyway? People are their flaws as much as they are their virtues. In any event, the fact that you got so much out of the book means that you brought a lot to it. Thank you for that. (Insightful - I like it)

But, before I digress too much. I have to say that I can't really answer your queries right now. I'm literally in an empty house in California and I'm driving to Massachusetts tomorrow morning. 3,000 miles. Kinda big move. Five days of ten hour drives, that sort of thing. I'll blog about it a bit: HERE. (Personally the fact he responded at all was amazing! I was close to tears with the euphoria! Such an amazing writer!)

But I'll happily respond to your questions when I can. Just give me some time... (That means he'll e-mail me again right?)

Best,

David.

So, that's my touch excitement after a long day! I may try e-mailing Kristen Cashore author of Graceling! She's awesome!

Guess what I've done today? Apart from received awesome emails? I have trained! Woo I have came home with like 6 certificates get me:
Infection Control
COSHH
Fire Safety 1: Hazards and Prevention
Fire Safety 2: Drills and Evacuation
Food Hygiene in the Care Home
Health and Safety in the Care Home

I had to watch a DVD for each and every one of them and it bored me to the point I nearly dropped off, infact, I may have actually fell asleep!! Good thing they left me in the training room on my own otherwise i may have got sacked there and then!

Got my new phone a LG KS360. It's pretty awesome at the moment, no complaints. My finger nails are too long to work with the keypad but thats a PICNIC - as my dad would say (Problem In Chair Not In Computer) Unlimited texts at long last my dears!

Hmmm. thats been it! I'm planning a suprise for my American Lover Ryan cause he can't visit this summer! He's gone off to graduate though so lots of love to him 'cause he's cool and we should all praise him.

Squid is spewing allover the Twilight soundtrack despite not having seen the film yet, I have pre-warned him about the twirly camera movements that make you feel like your on a rollercoaster. Theyre very annoying in my books, good film though - kind of.

So, that's it I think! Music on at the momento? Yes yes, a bit of 'On Call' - Kings of Leon. This was THE song that made me fall in love with KOL. I was sitting in my room, doing my hair for school (putting a brush through it then roughing it up with some wax, a fake out of bed look, get the idea? takes hours to do because actually leaving my hair as it is when i get out of bed is just scrubby and embarrassing!) and then it comes on MTV2, suddenly, I'm attracted! This god of a song is making me feel all lovely inside like good music should do. It's a classic! LOVE IT!

<--- That's what I'm excited for right now and Harry Potter 6 OF COURSE!!
WEASLEY IS OUR KING!

Quote of the day has to go to David Anthony Durham!

"People are their flaws as much as they are their virtues." - David Anthony Durham! Do insightful! and he e-mailed that directly to me! So no Squid...not a generic e-mail! Gosh, I'm actually getting all hyperventilating again! I'm so exciting! Great man I'd say!

Random

So I'm watching the Steve Wilko show and like this bloke was asking for forgivness off his gf's family because he sexually molestered his gf's little sister and then everyday for 8 months theyve harrassed him over it but the gf is still with him and accepted a marriage proposal on the show! I mean so much wrong-ness going on there. The little sister was all like, "shes still with the man i dont want to see ever again and it hurts, i miss my sister and i want her back" and then like the older sister is all like, "I can love you both at the same time" the bloke is all like, "I couldnt help it there was no little voice in my head telling me to stop, she was attractive" the step dad is going to beat him up on air and the mom is all like, "I dont get to see my daughter cause of him and my grandson isnt part of my life" etc etc. bad times. too much hatred and pain!

Then I was so totally made happy cause stef was like, "WOO HARRY POTTER IN TWO DAYS TIME!" I'm thinking, "YES MATE" and I'm so happy I could of actually shed a tear, I practically skipped all the way home, i really was excited! My new phone has been dispatched as well, chloe shall have unlimited texts at last!! so yes, it all comes crashing down when i hear that the UK release for Harry Potter has been put on hold for a month!

I had a dream about Rupert Grint last night and everything!
WEASLEY IS OUR KING!
I'm so bored. I have a job go me.
I'm a support worker in a care home i have to cook and clean, Stef says I will kill the service users which wounded me slightly but i knew it was the truth. Her phone is names Rosalita btw. £6 an hour which is pretty fab considering I'm 16 lol.
BNP been frustrating me tonight, theyve said some pretty racist and disgusting things it infuriates me! Facebook user? .... http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/group.php?gid=8644741474&ref=nf
Podinator? Ermm: The Lightning Strike by Snow Patrol - 15mins long but amazing none the less!!
Quote: "Research is what I'm doing when I don't know what I'm doing." - Wernher Von Braun, this me most days, always researching stuff i am :) Great times, good way to learn! Google is the fountain of all knowledge other search engines are available and if google fails you, Wikipedia will have your back and im pretty sure there are other online encyclopedia';s out there too if you look for them! I know this has been short but its been sweet, kinda life shortbread which i love because it is sweet but its also short-bread. Right I'm off

So guys, long time no speak!

School is over! I'm gonna miss hanging out with those guys! So here I am, back by popular demand...well, by Stef's demand. Hi Stef! It wasn't too shabby of an idea really as I have 11 weeks off now I have completed High School and the legal requirement for UK education. Just means I'm going to be bored a lot quicker and for a lot longer so typing out random stream of thoughts on to a screen that no one will really read seems quite good fun don't you think?

Results day is on 27th of August and I am very nervous because a lot will depend on those results, just the little things really, like my future career and what not. Oh well.

What is going on in Chloé's world then? Well the truth is...not much as always. I am going to see Muse in B'ham November 10th but it's not time to get excited yet 'cause that is way off! Squid will be happy it was mentioned though and you know me, I aim to please.

Here is something that is quite annoying...Lostprophets...awesome band right? if you say 'no' I'll hurt you as they're legendary in my books. Nothing like a bit of 'rooftops' to get a party going, anyway! They're playing Wolverhampton real soon and I'm thinking at this point, "Oh yeah cool I'm getting me some of that!" I hear there are plenty of tickets left so I'm getting really excited! I check it out turns out the tickets are £20.00, not too bad considering what I'm going to have to pay to see Muse so here is me, practically jumping up and down in my seat because lets face it guys, I have been desperate to see this band for a long time, it's nice and cheap and local and cool then here comes the bummer! My plans are ruined! When is the gig I hear you ask? Well good people of the internet, the Lostprophets Wolverhampton gig is on the 26th of August! Yes for those who are quite aware and observant, that is the day before results day, but thats not the problem.

"so what is the problem Chloé?"

Well as you asked so nicely I shall tell you! I am infact on an aeroplane on the 26th of August. I know, I know, that's a lame excuse but I have to return from my holiday at some point don't I? So yes, I'm complaining because I am missing out on a band because of my holiday in Cuba! Oh I know how spoilt I sound and with the current economic struggle I understand I'm lucky to be going away but I'm so used to the high life so therefore, I shall complain! I will take advantage of my right to be unhappy and cuss the world for all the pain it causes me whether it comes in the forms of holidays or not!

I didn't even want to go to Cuba! We have been to the Dominican Republic twice and we all know that Cuba is practically the same place as the Dominican with just more cigars! Alright for some but I'm no smoker! Oh well, we were getting desperate as the year drew on, we had a specification:

  • No where that uses dollars because the exchange rate is rubbish - that rules out Florida and the states in general

  • No where that would bore the smaller people in the family to death - no Egypt for Chloé

  • No where that has Swine Flu - JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE!!

Do NOT get me started on Swine Flu! I just don't care! Well obviously I care enough to rant about it but i don't actually care so much that I'm going to tip-toe around my ordinary life to make way for this beast of a cold! Sorry but last time I checked the UK servival rate was 100%, that may no longer be true but it's enough to stop me from worrying! It has calmed down a bit but c'mon "Coughs and sneezes spread diseases"? What is that meant to mean! It just tells me something, it offers no adivce on how to protect myself! Oh great, so I know not to go near people who cough and sneeze THANKS! Have you not been to Britain during the winter? Have you not been to Britain at all NHS? It's practically winter all the time! Coughs and sneezes are everywhere! Anyway, as I said, don't get me started on swine flu.

Chloé has no music on the podinator at the moment because it is extremley late at night! So why is she up you may ask yourself! Because I have nothing else to do, this happens every summer. As Ryan said earlier..."This feels so familiar."

Eurgh! I tell you what, I am really annoyed with my wireless at the moment! It just is not working! My laptop connects to the router nice and easy, but then it's all like, "Nope, soz Clo, local only!", this annoys me, why won't it just connect to the internet? So yeah, some poor family hasn't learnt how to secure their network yet so I jumped onto theirs but the signal isn't strong and it goes every now and then. Better than nothing I suppose! Also, I'm the only one in the house that can use it because the signal only makes it to my room for some reason :) hehe, I have unlimited power over my siblings all of a sudden they're tripping head over heels to get into my room and will do anything for me so they can go on the internet! Most annoying thing is though, I have to be in a certain part of my room for it to work. For example, I can't be on the top end of my bed otherwise it has "limited connection" and then just plain and simple won't work so I have to sit on the foot of my bed which is rather uncomfortable where I can scrape one bar of signal strength! GOOD TIMES!

Not very positive so far are we Davies? No we are not! Let's not moan, let's be happy and joyous and burst with glee of the situations and opportunities this warm world gives us!

First of all, lets learn to laugh! So, here I am bored brainless (give me a second the positive bit does kick in), I look into the pagan festival of May Day. May Day is actually the welcoming of the summer, it is the opposite to Halloween which is the pagan festival of Winter and the new year so seen as more important but anyway, May Day, lots of morris dancers and sex going on. Nice and lovely yes? So, as it's pagans some stuff about witches come up and I talk to Kat about modern day witches and she linked me up to this site which you may want to click onto in a moment or two if you want to be scared witless by crazy satanists...

http://www.satansheaven.com/index.htm

Now, these people are "Witches" or "Wiccas" whatever they call themselves these days and this site in particular takes itself very, very, very seriously! So, obviously, for your own 'health and safety' unless you are deadly serious about witchcraft and black magic they don't want you messing because if you do it wrong you could seriously damage your soul! and hey! You know what witches are like these days, dramatic and all, so as you can imagine the warning is pretty hefty! So what are these scary people's exact choice of words...I quote...

"This website is for those, who are seriously interested in black magic. People with prejudices and the mob should stay away from here:" - Nice and simple, something quite dark about it but yano, you get the message loud and clear...but wait, there is more!

"they would only troddle in darkness and be highly indignant." - explain to me HOW on God's green, CO2 abused EARTH, could you take ANYONE seriously who uses the word "troddle"! Please! Explain this to me! It may just be my sense of humour but I howled! If you look at the website which the above link leads you to you can see the seriousness of it all! Black background, candle images, scary picture of a dead ghost thingy-ma-bob and they use the word "troddle"! Is it even a word? Oh dear lord, I did chuckle!

HAHA, out of curiosity, I checked an online dictionary. Troddle is not a word, okay? So don't use it in your English essays. Not that physic geeks like Squid could write a decent English essay :) Becuase of course, English geeks like me could walk a physics exam paper easy peasy! Jokes jokes! Calm down boyo!

Hmm, okay, I have some strange feeling the likliness of you laughing right now is 0. I can't help it if I'm a bit nerdy and enjoy laughing at Witches :)

Which reminds me! HARRY POTTER! All you haters can just go home right now, curl up in your bed and stay there! Harry Potter is God's gift to all those worthy of love! Ron Weasley, to be quite frank, is my absoloute hero! He is a legend! I mean no other boy apart from Ron Weasley can be laughed at so hard but keep coming out with pure comical moments that top the ones from before! he just gets better and better! Dozier and dozier and if I am honest! Ron Weasley is my type of boy! I practically want to BE Hermione Granger! She is so cool even if no one else sees it! It doesn't help that in the films she is played by Emma Watson who is unbelievably gorgeous! If I was Samantha Ronson, I would have woken up long a go, forgot Lindsey and gone for Emma! As long as she keeps her hands off Keira Knightley, we're all okay! As for Daniel Radcliff, I would quite like to slap him, mainly for being such an overdramatic little muppet! Tom Felton aka Draco Malfoy <3>

i have just attmepted to take make-up off with the stuff that you're meant to put on in the morning to make your face all lovely. But this is stuff is strong enough to clear the roads of dust and debris after a bomb has hit a near by building! I'm suprised the neighbours aren't knocking down my door complaining!

What does a girl do with her self at 3.30 am? I know, hard question! Well I suppose blogging is a reaonsable answer as well as sleeping. Sleeping here is not an applicable answer in this situation so blogging is the only valid activity to be doing! I know I know! It's crazy! Hooch is crazy!

i really want to do something worthwhile with my time! If I'm gonna be this wild and stay up late It might as well be productive...lets face it...i could be sleeping. I'm thinking I need to invest in new music! You know that side bar you get on Windows Vista and you can get that post-it note gadget, well currently my post-it note says, "GET SOME MORE MUSIC WOMAN" so i may go surf the web for some new tunes to invest in! any suggestion lemme know.

Right I will finish off with a quote...gosh i havent done this in FOREVER

"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." - Albert Einstein. Oh now there is food for thought! I'd comment on it but my brain is sooooooo not functioning at this time of night and therefore shall leave it to your own interpretation, that way, you have loads more originality!! :):) xxn

Squid's a looser.

You know how I announced Squid is now going out with Chelsea, listen to this...

Both Chloé and Chelsea begin with 'Ch'

Both Chelsea and I have purple hair.

Both Chelsea and I have our second piercings in our ears recently.

Both of us hate physics, even though Chelsea took it at A level.

We both can play the Saxaphone and Flute.

Chelsea wears heels so she is taller (she bought some heels for Squid bless her), I am tall.

Both Chelsea and I abuse Squid with words.

We both live with extended members of family, I live with my nan, Chelsea lives with her auntie.

Chelsea wants to dye her hair red, what a coincidence, so do I!

Chelsea is thinking about piercing her belly button, funny she should think that, because I'm thinking about it too!

Both have brown eyes.

I will keep updating this list because it is pure embarrassment for Squid!
Typical of him to get a girlfriend just like me! But shes a bit more mathematical, even though, technically I am elgiable to take A level maths next year...hehe, I might take it now just so the similarities list can grow...
for now, lets laugh at Squid and call him a loser!
:)

Nostalgia.

I have been full of nostalgia recently. I missed my American lover Ryan Barnes because he has been off doing his thing over in America. As I started to miss him, I commented on his facebook, he sent an email, I emailed back he emailed me back (that was a shocker I didnt expect!) and then tonight, literally as I wrote 'I missed my American lover Ryan Barnes' he signed on MSN!! I'm so happy.

But, with the way of life, as one gap is filled, another is created. I think I need to wise up. For some strange reason I had to tell myself 'no, your mother is not going to walk through the door again'. I didn't know why I still thought she will, maybe after these past few years I have never accepted what's happend and I still think I will see my mom again and she's gone just for now. Of course then I was miserably upset with thoughts such as 'she's never going to see me grow up' 'she can't come to any of my plays'...you get the jist. I miss mother.

We're performing King Lear again. Once on Monday for some Americans and then again on Wednesday as part of the 6th form showcase. It's cool, I keep getting put in charge of rehearsals because Mrs. G has to see to the other performances and the year 12s are very unmotivated apparently! It's not fun, cause i have to shout at people to behave when really I just want to laugh with them. But I have to do it because if we don't actually rehearse Mrs G will make me cry.

iTunes - Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon. I'm pretty sure I have blogged to you about this song before. Last time I checked Squid wasn't too sure on the lyrics, I'm sure if he reads this he will correct me. But we did both agree that apart from the lyrics, this song rocks!! Don't get me wrong, I like the lyrics...it's just Squid...lets all give him evils!

ANNOUNCMENT! As Squid is officially part of the blog 'team' (aka Squid and me) here at Chloé's World, I shall have to announce that he has a girlfriend now called Chelsea. Poor girl. Anyway, good luck to her and well done Squid!

I'm bored, so lets quote and get it done with...

"Human history becomes more and more a race between education and catastrophe." - H. G. Wells. Good ol' H. G. Wells makes me giggle. With his funny ways of describing things, accurate, but funny. Okay, so it's not funny but it's accurate.

Windows, English Exam, Mamma Mia!

You never guess what? Apart from the fact my bedroom is ACTUALLY tidy, we have new windows! Maz and Dad decided to replace the double glazing and much to my suprise on Staurday morning there was a gaping whole where my window used to be in my bedroom. There was quite a breeze. Not only had the window gone, but the framework all the way around the edges, the silly man looked like he was going to fall out. It was amazing! Yes, small things amuse small minds.

I don't want to put my blinds up though because I feel free just being able to see throughout the whole of the window, its magical. So I'm not rushing my dad to sort it. My room feels clammy with a blind.

My English paper two sucked. The poem choice was awful...Structure and language 'What Were They Like?' and one other poem...I avoid all questions with 'structure' in them. OR, describe methods used to put ideas across in 'Hurricane Hits England' and one other poem...I LOVE Hurricane Hits England, but, I didn't know what to do for the other poem, so I went for 'Presents From My Aunts in Pakistan' which I hate, but it was a 10 minute decision making process so thats how it goes.
Section B asked several questions but I went for 'Describe a place you don't like', I went for a dungeon.
All in all, I felt I did this paper better in the mock, but thats fine.

Not much to report.

Going to Sally's tonight with all the girls to watch Mamma Mia! Ooft, I love that film...
'Honey Honey, how he thrills me uh-huh' :)
'Dont go wasting you emotions....':)
'DOES YOUR MOTHER KNOW?' <-- My tune!

Talking of Mamma Mia! Mr. Lashhab aka my form tutor with slightly italian accent who says 'Mamma Mia' alot, shaved off all his hair. When questioned he told us how someone offered to pay £300 to charity if he did...so he did it! GO MR LASHHAB! Ambassador for good will he should be!

HELLEW :) as Guy would say.

iTunes - 'Stranger Things Have Happend' Foo Fighter, supplied by Squid. I simply love this song.

"He who has a 'why' to live, can bear with almost any 'how'."- Friedrich Nietzsche. I thought that quote was SO sweet! Do you have a 'why' to live? Lemme know! I wanna know why you feel you are alive, and if you have a why I want to know if you feel the need to discover 'how'...

Exam, alienation, prom and cartoons

WHAT WHAT! (mine and stefs private joke )
My exam went okay today.
Q1a) Explain in your own words the writers feelings towards sports and cultures in the foreword...
Lets face it guys, easy peasy. Aced that question.
Q1b) How does the writer use Fact and Opinion in Item 2 to persuade you to his way of thinking...
A bit harder, but it wasn't that bad once I read through the text a few times.

Q2a) Compare the purposes of the two items
Oh dear. Messed that one up. Lets not dither.
Q2b) I forgot this question but it was along the lines of 'how does image, colour and format create an effect in item 1'
ACED IT :) Well, maybe. I wrote alot about a little lets say. I only talked about the back page of the booklet not the other 3. is that bad?

Section B ... I chose Q5
Write an article advising how to handle difficult dicisions in upcoming teenage years.
I was really cool in that one. But to be joe I liked my mock section B better :)
So I just have to ace paper 2 now and I should be well on my way to an A* hopefully anyway!

This morning, approximatley 7.00 I received two text messages.
One from Katy saying.... OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA
Second from stef saying....WOO GO OBAMA. I just had to text you even though it cost me 14p
So I was lovley and cheery this morning as I discovered America pulled through and didn't be racsit! Even though Todd reckons he will be shot by christmas! NASTY.

I no longer feel sick :) but i'm having stomach cramps and all the other symptoms the doctor mentioned the other day that i denied having...well now I have them. JOY. (I have been really ill for all those who are not in the know!)

What is on the legendary Davies' iTunes? Well... 'Make this Work' by Magistrates. They're this new cool band. Totally indie! They're this 80's pop mixed with a comfortable sexual twist to them and a modern outlook. Think, David Bowie and Bloc Party in one go...I love them! They supported Black Kids in Birmingham and ever since all I can do is listen to their myspace. www.myspace.com/magistratesband or listen to make it work and watch the video http://www.magistratesband.com/ you can sign up to their site and download their song for free :) They are currently working on their album and I'm excited. They just have this retro new electronic vibe thing going on. Yum. Shivers. Plus, the lead singer (known as Usher) looks like Dr. Reid from Criminal Minds :) Finally, Essex produced more than blonde bimbo's whoreing themselves for sex...and to meet You Me At Six by sleeping with the Partick Stump look-alike in the tour buses....
Haha, I blates love that band, look how big the paragraph is!

I have munched through a pack of malted milk biscuits, I have a pack of bourbon as well to get through, maybe not tonight though. It's bad enough my legs are the size of whales, but apparently people want me to wear shorts and tights for a rave in Oceana. The girls think it would be funny to wear matchin outfits with different coloured tights! What they playing at? Me? In shorts and tights no thanks! I'm insecure and proud. Leave me be you demons!

So, dilemma guys! Short hair or long hair for prom? I mean, I have always had short, funky styled hair and thats been me for years. Latley, I have toned it down because I'm trying to grow it a little bit for prom, that way when I have extensions it wont be as painfully obvious. And I don't want long hair because it's the normal, girly thing to do. I want long hair because I think it would look nicer for the event and long hair is what I've always wanted but never had the patience for, so why not chose prom to spoil myself? But, I'm going to have my picture and years time I'm going to look at it and think, 'was that me?'. I want my prom picture to represent who I have become and how school has changed me over the past five years. I don't have long hair, long hair has connotations of plastic, pretty barbie girls which has NEVER been me thank God. I have been many labels and in many clicks but never a barbie, as much as people believe that is me now, I pain my nails black to rebel :)
Well, I shall continue to grow my hair until i make a decision. Atleast I can cut my hair off, where as if I keep with the long hair decision but I cut it off previously, it's a bit tuff to lengthen :s
Any advice on this would be useful.

But yes, the prom date has been decided. Thursday 9th July, Park Hall Hotel. I'm giddy with excitment. I love this prom thing. Boo to those who aren't coming! It's going to be fun!

Year book comittee (*cough* thats me) has decided, hard back year books with all the year groups names on the covers. There will be an awards page...obviously. A few photo montages, a page for your tutor where you have your picture, your name blah blah blah, fave song, email address, what your future plans are then each tutor will have a photo and put in there :) exciting! I'm already collecting photos.

Oh my gosh! We are performing King Lear again, only this time, we're performing it in school! the 26th November, Ounsdale arena! Be there! I'm excited to start rehearsals again, it's gonna be immense! We're doing it for charity rumour has it, but i'm not sure yet, but Mrs G did confirm that King Lear is being re-performed...back by popular demand WHOOP. We're gonna kick those High School Musical kids ass. Haha, yes, year 7, 8 and 9 are performing High School Musical! No Joke. Apparently it's AWFUL! I heard them practicing today, the singing was out of tune and according to secure intelligence, they kept forgetting their lines. haha loosers. There is like 50 kids, its MADNESS. King Lear for the win.

So yeah, if you don't go to my school, that post was completley useless :)
"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win." - Mahatma Gandhi. that is the routine life of people like me :) I won long ago though...Yeaaah you know who you are...YOU CUT YOUR HAIR OFF AFTERWARDS haha tit faces, thinking they can alienate me, thinking i was in the wrong....funny they ended up doing the same thing! pfft.

Talking about alienation...
xkcd for the win...

And for my all time fave....
